Bonaire

Geographically similar to Aruba and Curacao, Bonaire has less (10.000) inhabitants, mainly Creole. Their forefathers have been working as slaves at the sea salt lakes which are till today still producing. Often one sees the pink flamingoes flying from Curacao to Bonaire or back. Bonaire is laid back and almost asleep.
Destruction of the coral reefs here is limited due to firm regulations for divers and vessels. No anchoring, limited fishing and absolutely no spear fishing, no allowance to take souvenirs from the sea.

Below see the boulevard shoreline of Bonaire and further down some Las Aves pictures. Read more about the most impressive paradise in the Southern Caribbean:

Bonaire has excellent air connections. And is for this reason important for us. Our passengers fly to Bonaire where we will pick them up to continue sailing towards Islas Las Aves where we will find and enjoy the real paradise after a relatively easy trip of approx 5 hours under the iron sail due to sailing against current, chop and wind. Islas Las Aves consist of two uninhabited coral atolls and offer you the most beautiful corals of the Caribbean, most exciting diving / snorkeling and a superb hide-away ambiance. In 2004 we discovered here the canons of the lost French armada, and furthermore a few brilliant coral formations and a real great cave with some real size sharks. Inside the circular reef is tranquility. Also for kids and non-seafarers. Buy fish and lobsters from fisherman around. Aves is our #1 !!
