In your free time:

A trip to Coro, the old capital of Venezuela is a good one. Art, architecture, ancient styles and atmosphere.

And you get the crossing over the sand dunes (LOS MEDANOS DE CORO), a ridge of sand dunes connecting the Peninsula de Paraguana with mainland of Venezuela. It's a dry peninsula, the water comes in via a pipe line. It's in the name: Paraguana = para agua nada = translation: there is no water .

Los Medanos de Coro

As Paraguana is a tax free zone, the shopping is very interesting. A recent law forbids foreigners to buy plasma TV or airco's but vegetables, fruits and plastic children toys are for the time being still allowed to be bought. Bring cash dollars with you !!

The nigh life in Punto Fijo is crazy fun, as Venezuela is still that great madhouse. But the heavily and seriously severe catholic ladies want that you first pay all the bills, than marry them, and than ..... you might get permission to kiss them, but only if you're handsome and well dressed, dance good, smell good, talk sweet, and be the caballero. Good luck !!!
No shorts or sandals we found out, so beware !!!

A few peaceful fishing villages along the coast.

The all over power of the church here is based upon a few coinciding facts.

-1- humans are supposed to do all that is possible while God is here for the impossible.

-2- In Venezuela nobody has a possibility, most of life needs are impossible to reach... So ....ask God

We make a deal with the driver and go to that mountain by taxi , and than .... walk.....
Nice that there's only one mountain here
On the way to Coro...... Los Medanos de Coro

Captain must see the greener grass at the other side of the mountain.

Apparently he found it. Nobody believes, so we do iene, miene, mutte, and finally Alvarez has to go up to check.
